Save Money On Auto Insurance

Do you need to save money on auto insurance? You can get lots of ideas about how to save more money.

Everybody I talk to is trying to cut down on expenses and put away more money these days. With lower savings account interest rates, market troubles, high credit card rates, and everything else that is going on, it is no wonder that consumers are loooking for a way to cut bills!

One monthly expense that most of us have is our car insurance premium. Do not think that every insurer will be alike. There are ways to cut your bill. Get some quick tips that may save you hundreds of dollars, or more, a month.

Understand that I would nevr tell anybody to give up the best policy coverage to save a few dollars. Cutting down on coverage can cost you a lot more in the long run.

Do you need comprehensive insurance? Do not be too quick to cut out coverage just to save money. Many agents will tell you to just keep your liability after your car is paid off.

But that will only pay off the "other guy" if you have an accident. Without comprehensive or collision coverage, you may have to pay a lot to repair or replace you car. You need to be sure you can afford to replace your transportation before you eliminate any coverage your current policy has.

It will be worth it if you take some time comparing insurance. It is not possible to guess which life changes will change your premiums.

The insurer that worked so well for you last year may not be the best one today. This could be because of your own situation, like the addition of a new driver or different car. Your rates could also be affected by some policy or market changes to the marketplace or your particular insurer.

You may think that all insurers are the same, but this really is not true. Even though they may calculate rates on some of the same basic things, they weigh them differently. The company that offers a great rate to a forty year old may be very expensive when you try to add a teen driver to your policy. If you just got a rate increase, it is time to do some car insurance shopping!

It is not hard to compare auto insurance quotes either. You can find many online forms that offer plan comparisons. All you have to do is key in your information once. Then you can sit back and examine competitive quotes from top insurers in your area. You can spend less in a short time.

The competitive quotes can help you pick out a better policy. If you are not sure about them, you could print them off and show them to a local insurance agent for more help. Either way, the more you know, the better off you will be when you are trying to buy the best coverage.

These days it pays to be a careful and frugal shopper. Since almost all drivers need insurance, this is one good place to start when you are trying to save money.

Car Insurance For Young Drivers

Car Insurance For Young Drivers - How to Decrease the Cost of a Premium

By Insurance Articles

Can You Find Affordable Car Insurance for Young Drivers?

One of the only things that is tougher than getting a teen or young adult trained to be a good driver, is to get them insured at an affordable price. Insurers see teens and young adults as high risk drivers, and young males are even judged more harshly than young females. This is not an arbitrary judgement, but it is a judgement that insurance underwriters reach after keeping years of statistics on the amount of claims that are made because of younger drivers. As a group, drivers under 25, just tend to be a higher risk group. So insurers may charge more to insure them.

Teens and Young Adults Have Strengths Too

A younger driver does not have to be a bad driver. Think about the strengths that teens have over their middle aged parents. It is likely that their reaction times and eyesight are better. All they lack, really, is experience in real world driving situations. They may also tend to lack a bit of caution Because of this, more teens are bound to make mistakes than older and more mature and experienced drivers.

Discounts for Young Adult and Teen Drivers

Here are some things a younger driver can do to make up for a lack of experience and maturity.

  • Drivers Education Classes - These classes combine classroom an vehicle training from a qualified teacher. They should also include sessions on alcohol and drug awareness. They do help, and since insurers recognize this, many companies offer auto insurance discounts for students who complete a drivers education class.

  • Good Grades At School - Since your young.driver lacks any driving history of their own, they may demonstrate responsibility in another way. Some insurers offer a discount for students with a B average or better. The statistics on accidents that these companies keep show that students with better grades tend to show more responsibility about other things too.

  • Keep Up A Good Driving Record - As time passes, and a younger driver simply goes without an accident or traffic violation, rates will drop.

Family Discounts That Help Find Lower Rates for Younger Drivers

Of course, it is probably easiest to get better rates by including the younger driver on the family auto policy. Discounts that the whole family gets will help keep rates more affordable. Many insurers offer discounts that will apply to everybody on a family policy.

  • Multiple Policy Discounts - Many insurers offer a discount for multiple vehicles or drivers. In addition, insurance companies that offer home and car insurance will often offer a discount for different lines of business.

  • Safety Discounts - Premiums are also set by the type of vehicle. Some are just considered safer than others. Insurers even consider factors like how likely a specific model of car is to get stolen. Auto safety and anti-theft devices are also common. If you are shoppng for a new vehicle these are things to consider. If you have a car already, you may want to see if you can install an anti-theft device to bring rates down and make that car more secure.

Liability Only Auto Insurance

One solution to very high premiums may be to purchase an older vehicle. If you can pay cash for the car, you can just buy liability insurance. If you owe money to a lender, that lender will probably force you to purchase collision and comprehensive insurance too. Sometimes they even require GAP insurance, and this is an extra expense. This solution does not work out for everybody, but it is something to consider.

Reduce Auto Insurance Rates

If you are a driver, you probably need to buy auto insurance! Every US state has a law requiring a proof of financial responsibility to drive, and for most of us, that means we need to have an auto insurance policy. We cannot cut out insurance, but we can do our best to reduce it!I want to write some great tips to reduce your bill.

You can control the cost of car insurance.

They come from a variety of sources, Consider raising your deductible. Your rate difference between a $250 deductible and a $1,000 deductible will amount to hundreds of dollars in savings every year. keep in mind that will need to pay that amount out of your pocket if you do need to make a claim. But smart consumers think it would be better to save your money in an account in case of an emergency. You can even eget returns on the extra dollars instead of just pay an insurance company.

Find multi-policy discounts. Most companies will reward their clients for giving them all of their business. Buying car and homeowners insurance, or more than one car will usually earn you a substantial discount.

Look for insurance companies who want customers like you.. A driver may have a great driving history, and that will earn her a big discount with company A. But maybe this woman'scredit score is not very high, and that may bet her penalized with company B. Major insurance companies have their own rate charts, and you need to find the one that works for you!

By the way, compare for the best prices. Auto coverage is an active business. We may all need coverage, but we know that dozens of insurers are all competing for that business. You can find many convenient online quote forms that can save you time and money by allowing you to fill in your information one time, and then sitting back and letting companies come to you with offers! You probably do need to pay for auto insurance, but you do not need to pay too much!

Does Your Business Need its own Car Insurance?

Personal Insurance vs. Commercial Car Insurance

I have been noticing that many self employed people rely on their own car insurance, and that includes business owners who allow employees to use their car for work! Sometimes, even, the employees will use their own cars for this work. But isn't this risky?

Well, a lot of financial professionals think it is risky to rely on personal car insurance for business. Consider this: Do You Need Commercial Vehicle Insurance? The important thing is to check out your current policy. A small business auto policy does not need to be expensive, and it may be something you cannot afford to be without.

Car Insurance For Younger Drivers

Young Driver Car Insurance Discount Tips

1. If your student driver has good grades, you may be able to shave 25% off for a good student driver discount!

2. Driver's safety courses usually earn credit. Make sure the course is approved with your company and do shop around for the best discounts.

Best Way To Compare Car Insurance Quotes

As you probably know, insurance companies consider many factors when they are determining an individual's car insurance rates. They look at an applicant's age, driving history (or lack of it), and how much the car is driven. But they even go further. They look at the type of car, safety and anti-theft devices, and even an applicant's credit history!

When they look at all of these factors, they can either cause a standard rate to be rated up or discounted. But different insurance companies use a different scale, and the only way to find out who will give you the best deal is to ask everybody! But it will take a lot of effort to call around.

Car Rental Insurance Tips

Do You Know What Insurance You Need when Renting a Car?

If you have rented a car recently, you were probably offered car rental insurance from the person at the counter. This insurance is fairly expensive, but the counter person will assure you that it will cover the car in case of any theft or damage so you don't have to worry.

However, understand that the coverage protects the car you rented, and not the other car, so you still need car liability coverage. In fact, if you have a good comprehensive car insurance policy, you may not need the extra insurance at all, since it may cover you, no matter what car you drive. The big advantage to buying the extra insurance for a rental car, is that it may pay your deductible, and make it so you don't have to worry about a car getting "totaled" by the car insurance company.

You may also have the extra protection from your credit card, so check into that. It is a perk some credit cards provide.

Safest Cars To Drive

According to Yahoo! Green, the biggest and heaviest cars are not always the safest cars. Of course, we know they will be more expensive cars to operate because of fuel costs. Now, since big SUV's are not always synonyms for safe cars, they will also not insure our safety or be cheaper cars to insure either.

Apparently the design of the car matter more then how large a car is. Cars have crush zones and safer areas, and engineers who understand this can use the steel wisely to make safer cars without making heavier cars. In fact, if we lived in a world where everybody drove lighter, better designed cars, we would have less traffic accidents, and help our environment.

If you are car shopping, be sure and research what insurers think about a car model's safety. After all, car companies publish testing, but nothing tells the truth like statistics on what really protected passsengers and drivers in the real world.

Best Car Insurance Quotes For you

Since all car insurance claim to have the best rates and coverage, we know that some of them must be exagerating. The fact is, insurers base their rates on the same general things, but may put weight on different factors. One insurer may cut you a break for a single accident in a time frame where another auto insurance company may not worry as much about an applicant's credit score.

In order to find the best car insurance company for you, you need to be able to compare quotes and plans. It will take a lot of effort to call around, so I suggest using an online car insurance quote form. You can fill in your information one time, and then just sit back and let car insurance companies compete for your business!

I, personally, saved over $50 on my car insurance for the same plan by comparing auto insurance quotes and hope you can save the same.

Car Insurance Money Saving Tips

Car Insurance: Money-Saving Tips

Many people lament the purchase of auto insurance. So we’re here to make it less painful. Check out these six money-saving tips and take the sting out of buying insurance.

#1 Raise your deductible. It’s a gamble, sure. You’ll be responsible for a larger amount of the bill should you get into an accident. However, this is a guaranteed way to lower your annual insurance costs.

#2 Shop around. Staying with the same insurance company year after year may not be in your best interest. You can cancel or change your policy at any time—you don’t need to wait for the policy to expire. So shop your insurance every six months and compare prices to ensure you are getting the best deal.

Compare Car Insurance Quotes with our Fast, Safe, and Free Online Insurance Quote Form!

#3 Remove unneeded extras. Although knowing you have towing and rental car coverage may help you sleep at night, those add-ons are rarely used and not necessarily worth the cost. You pay between $10 and $30 a year over the life of your policy to cover towing. And in the unlikely situation that you need a tow, you’ll pay about $100. Likewise, a small economy car costs $20-$25 a day to rent and car rental tacks on another $20-$40 to your insurance bill each year. So you can sleep well knowing that you saved yourself some money.

#4 Protect your credit. More insurers have begun using credit-based insurance scores to determine what you pay for your policy. So paying the water bill on time will actually keep your insurance costs down.

#5 Research discounts. Cars with safety and anti-theft devices cost less to insure. You can also knock off a few bucks if you insure your car and home with the same company. People who abstain from alcohol, get good grades in school or take a driver education course are also rewarded with lower premiums.

#6 Get informed. The easiest way to save on any insurance is to research before you buy. And get recommendations from family and friends.

And now for the shameless plug: shope here to find quotes and matched with agents from your area!

Commercial Car Insurance

I was very interested to see a very imformative article about commercial car insurance at The Business Insurance Store. I think a lot of us run our small businesses while relying on personal insurance, and we don't realize how much liability we leave ourselves open too!

If you use your car for business, and especially if you let your employees use your car, then you really need to make sure your personal insurance covers that use. If you cannot afford to pay for damages, medical liability, and legal defense, you may be taking a large gamble without commercial auto insurance!

Extended Car Warranties

I just found a good article on extended car warranties. I think a lot of assume you have to buy these at the car dealership. Actually, you can buy them for quite awhile after you buy your car, and you can even buy them on used cars. I have seen car warranties available on older cars up to 100,000 miles! Car dealerships tend to marke up their products quite a bit, and you can save money by buying directly from the warranty companies.

We all know that our cars will need to be repaired eventually. It always seemes that things go wrong with cars as soon as they are out of their regular warranty! With longer car financing periods, extended warranties are becoming increasingly attractive!

Another Insurance Blog!

Well you may not think the world needs another insurance blog. After all, a google of the term 'insurance blog' returns 40,300,000 entries! But I think that useful blogs of any sort - and not just the type that are hear to shove a message or political agenda down your throat - are rare jewels indeed. I cannot believe that all of the 40 million entries, or even sadly, 99.99% of that, will do you any good at all.

Hey Pamela Anderson even has a blog now, but it's not about insurance. Anyway, the whole point of this is to mention that 24/7QUoteUS.COM has it's own BLOG now, and the author has been posting away - mostly on the topics of life and health insurance, and not so much about car insurance.

So far I have seen blog entries on the differences between dental insurance and dental discount plans, and a primer on annuities, etc. This is good stuff.

California Auto Insurance Comparisons

Quick, Free Auto Insurance Quote

According to California’s premium rating law, every insurance company is permitted to determine its own rates based on its past loss experience and expenses. In view of the fact that every company’s experience is different, although they are within the identical geographic region, the rates will be different as a result.

By calling a few companies for rate comparisons, people can find the cheapest policy and possibly save hundreds of dollars a year. Shoppers will also have an opportunity to select the company that offers the most accessible price and coverage to match their personal requirements.

There are various sources people can call to assess policies and premiums. A good starting place could be the local telephone directory. The Internet can provide names and telephone numbers for independent insurance brokers/agents, company agents, direct writers, and web sites.

It is vital to get quotes from numerous companies. People may not recognize it, but the insurance rates they pay for their car can differ considerably based on the insurance company they select. Consumers should always evaluate many companies before coming to a decision on a policy.

If someone has trouble finding a company that will insure them, they can always contact certain insurance companies that specialize in high-risk drivers. People should be vigilant when they decide to buy insurance from one of these companies. It is important to carefully read each eligibility requirements and the monthly rates as they may vary vastly from one provider to the other. Obtaining liability coverage through the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan (CAARP) is another option.

The plan operates by accepting the application and turning over it to an insurance company. Every insurance company licensed in the state is obliged to accept CAARP applicants. The quantity of CAARP applicants insured depends on the insurance company’s market share. The rates used by the plan are the same regardless of which insurance company issues the policy.
